FULLERTON, Calif. – Jacquleyn Sertic fired a one-hitter as North Dakota State University blanked Ole Miss 1-0, but Pacific rallied with a run in the bottom of the seventh to edge the Bison 2-1 on Saturday, Feb. 11, during the second day of the Easton Invitational at Anderson Family Field.  Â

North Dakota State (1-3) is scheduled to close out tournament play against host Cal State Fullerton at noon Central Time Sunday, Feb. 12.

Sertic, a junior right-hander from Sparks, Nev., recorded her third career one-hitter in the first game against Ole Miss (2-1). She retired the first 16 batters she faced Kaylee Horton's one-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Sertic recorded eight of her 11 strikeouts over the first five-plus innings, but also received alert defensive plays from
Zoe Stavrou at first base and left fielder
Stephanie Soriano. She also snared a line drive up the middle. Sertic issued no walks.

North Dakota State scored the game's only run in the top of the seventh inning. Stavrou singled up the middle and was replaced by pinch-runner
Anna Watson.

Watson moved to second on Beatty's sacrifice bunt and scampered to third when
Julia Luciano reached on an error.
Vanessa Anderson drilled a single to left to score Watson.

Kaitlin Lee (1-1) recorded the loss for Ole Miss. Lee scattered five hits, struck out three and issued no walks.

In the second game, Hailey Reed scored the winning run for Pacific on a sacrifice fly to right center. Reed led off the bottom of the seventh with an infield single and moved to second on an error.

Bre Beatty delivered a RBI single in the first inning to put Bison ahead 1-0.

However, Pacific pitcher Cassidy Gustafson allowed NDSU only one hit after that. Gustafson struck out four and walked three to record the win.

Gustafson also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth that tied the game 1-1. Hailey Moran-Rowen also went 3 for 3 for the Tigers.

KK Leddy and Sertic pitched for North Dakota State with Sertic picking up the loss. The pair combined to allow seven hits, strike out five and walk two.
