FULLERTON, Calif. – Host Cal State Fullerton struck for two runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat North Dakota State University 4-2 on Sunday, Feb. 12, during the final day of the Easton Invitational at Anderson Family Field.

North Dakota State (1-4) is scheduled to play Boston College at 10 a.m. Central Time on Friday, Feb. 17, in the University of Arizona Wildcat Invitational.

Lexi Gonzalez laced a double to center to score pinch-runner Ariana Williams with one out in the bottom of the sixth to put Cal State Fullerton (1-1) ahead. Zoe Richard had a RBI single with two outs to score Gonzalez.

The Titans' rally came after the Bison had moved runners into scoring position in the top of the sixth inning. However, Trisha Parks notched the last of her eight strikeouts to end the threat.

Parks (1-1) worked the final five innings in relief of starter Sydney Golden. Parks allowed two hits and walked one.

Zoe Stavrou put North Dakota State ahead 2-0 in the top of the first with two-run home run to center. It was the first long ball of the season for Stavrou, who went 3 for 3 for the Bison.

However, Cal State Fullerton answered with a Gonzalez two-run home run in the bottom of the first. Gonzalez went 2 for 3 with three runs batted in.

Jacquelyn Sertic (1-3) picked up the loss for NDSU. Sertic allowed six hits, struck out six and walked one.
