Omaha Deals Bison Men’s Basketball 96-92 Defeat

OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team dropped its regular season finale at Omaha on Saturday evening, falling 96-92 at Baxter Arena.
The Bison end the regular season 19-10 overall and 11-5 in The Summit League, finishing second in the league standings.
Paul Miller scored 32 points on 16 shots for NDSU, making 6-of-12 from three-point range. Dexter Werner recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Omaha senior guard Marcus Tyus had 27 points to lead the Mavericks. Omaha shot 15-for-29 (52 percent) from three-point range and 58 percent overall.
Omaha led 47-41 at halftime and pushed its margin to 64-46 just over six minutes into the second half. The Bison rallied to cut the deficit to five at 76-71 with 4:50 to play, but the Mavericks answered with a three from Daniel Norl and scored five straight.
NDSU put together one final rally to get within three at 93-90 with 13 seconds left following a pair of technical free throws by Miller and a dunk by Werner. Tyus made 3-of-4 free throws in the final 12 seconds to seal the victory for Omaha.
NDSU will be the No. 2 seed for the Summit League Tournament, playing No. 7 seed IUPUI in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Mar. 4, at 8:30 p.m.
