DELAND, Fla. – North Dakota State did its scoring with two outs in a 3-1 win over Colgate on Sunday, March 12, to close out play in the Stetson University Westin Invitational played at Patricia Wilson Field.

NDSU (10-14) is scheduled to play No. 2/1-ranked Florida (21-1) in a single-game at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. The Gators host Missouri on today and Monday.

North Dakota State broke up the pitcher's duel in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Madyson Camacho singled to right field to score
Stephanie Soriano with two outs. Colgate had thrown out a runner at the plate on the previous play.

Lauren Reimers provided NDSU with a pair of important runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend the lead to 3-0. Reimers doubled to left field to score
Montana DeCamp and
Julia Luciano with two outs.

Colgate (2-9) made things interesting in the top of the seventh when Tara Grennan's sacrifice fly scored Katie Bushee to cut the deficit to 3-1.

North Dakota State pitcher
Jacquelyn Sertic retired the next batter to record the win and improve to 8-10. Sertic struck out nine, scattered three hits and issued no walks.

Gillian Murray (0-2) took the loss for Colgate. Murray walked seven, allowed five hits and had one strikeout.
