KK Leddy tossed a five-hitter as North Dakota State edged Georgia Tech 2-1 on Sunday, March 26, at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field. The Bison won 2 of 3 games in the series.

NDSU (12-21) is scheduled to open Summit League play at Fort Wayne with an 11 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday, April 1.

Heinz, a 5-foot-7 junior from Livermore, Calif. (Granada H.S.), hit a 1-2 pitch for a two-run home run to left field to score
Dani Renner. Renner reached on a walk. It was the second home run of the season for Heinz.

It's all the offense NDSU starter
KK Leddy needed. Leddy (3-6) scattered five hits, struck out four and walked one to record the win. She also received help on defense as the Bison turned a double play to end the fourth inning.

Georgia Tech (10-22) cut the deficit to 2-1 on Jessica Kowalewicz' solo home run in the bottom on the sixth inning. The Yellow Jackets threatened in the seventh with the tying run advancing to third with two outs. Leddy coaxed a ground out to the mound to end the game.

The Bison finished with six hits led by a pair of singles from
Madyson Camacho, while Draven Sonnon and Kowalewicz each had two hits for Georgia Tech.

Brooke Barfield (3-9) and Jenna Goodrich pitched for the Yellow Jackets with Barfield taking the loss. The pair combined to walk six and strike out four.
