Colorado State Rallies in Second-Half to Defeat NDSU Women’s Soccer, 5-1

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State University Rams scored five goals in the second-half to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat the North Dakota State University women's soccer team, 5-1, Sunday, Sept. 10, at Lagoon Field.

The Bison (0-8-0) took a 1-0 lead 14 minutes into the first-half after junior Malley O'Brien scored her first goal of the season on a cross-pass from freshman Malana Vachon.

NDSU was able to hold onto the advantage until Colorado State (2-3-2) scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second-half to gain a 2-1 lead.

The Rams increased their advantage with goals in the 59th, 63rd and 86th minutes.

O'Brien led NDSU offensively with the goal, while freshman Brookelyn Dew placed two shots on goal.

Bison junior goalkeeper Julia Edelstein (0-5-0) suffered the loss between the pipes after making six saves but allowing all five CSU goals.

Karli Eheart scored two goals and compiled three shots on goal to pace the Rams.

Colorado State goalkeeper Hunter Peifer (2-2-2) earned the win after giving up one goal while making one save.

North Dakota State is slated to return home to the friendly confines of Dacotah Field for a match against Utah Valley Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m.
