FARGO, N.D. – Junior defender Hanna Norman scored two goals, and sophomore goalkeeper Monica Polgar made a career-high nine saves to help the North Dakota State University women's soccer team earn a 2-0 shutout victory over the Utah Valley Wolverines on Sunday, Sept. 17, at Dacotah Field.

Norman, a native of Hastings, Minn., netted her first goal of the season and the Bison's opening goal of the match in the 35th-minute when she slotted a header from freshman Marian Taiwo into the back of the net.

North Dakota State (1-8-0) went into halftime with a 1-0 lead, despite being outshot by Utah Valley (3-7-0), 6-3.

Norman netted her second goal of the contest in the 79th-minute after she corralled a pass from freshman Danielle Algera and tapped it into the lower right corner of the goal.

For the match, UVU outshot NDSU, 15-7, and posted an 11-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Polgar (1-3-0) compiled four saves in the first-half before stopping five shots in the second-half, while allowing no goals to earn her first win and shutout of the season.
