FARGO, N.D. – Freshmen Brookelyn Dew and Danielle Algera each scored their first collegiate goal as the North Dakota State University women's soccer team claimed a 2-0 shutout win over the University of Jamestown Jimmies on a rainy Saturday night, Sept. 23, at Dacotah Field.

The Bison (2-8-0) are scheduled to open Summit League play Thursday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at home against the University of South Dakota.

Dew, a native of Fargo, gave NDSU a 1-0 lead after she intercepted a Jamestown (5-3-0) pass and curled a shot from 20 yards out into the upper right corner of the goal in the 31st-minute.

Algera doubled the home team's lead with her goal in the 62nd-minute. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native controlled a cross-pass from junior Holly Enderle and blasted the ball into the back of the net. It was Enderle's first assist of the season.

For the match, North Dakota State outshot Jamestown, 19-9, including a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.

NDSU sophomore goalkeeper Monica Polgar (2-3-0) made three saves and didn't allow a goal in 90 minutes between the posts to earn her second consecutive win and shutout.

Kristin Breaux tallied three shots and one shot on goal to pace the Jimmies.
