South Dakota Defeats NDSU Women’s Basketball in Summit League Opener

FARGO, N.D. – The South Dakota Coyotes defeated the North Dakota State University women's basketball team, 82-67, on Tuesday, Jan. 2, inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
The Bison (7-8, 0-1 Summit League) were led in scoring by freshman Emily Dietz and sophomore Reilly Jacobson, who each netted 10 points. Jacobson also paced NDSU on the glass with a team-high six rebounds.
North Dakota State outshot South Dakota (10-5, 2-0 Summit League) from the floor, 52 percent to 50 percent, but committed 22 turnovers which led to 32 Coyote points.
USD also posted a 28-26 advantage in rebounding and tallied 15 steals in the game.
Jaycee Bradley scored a game-high 21 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the field, and went 5-of-5 from three-point range to lead four Coyotes in double figures.
South Dakota shot 48 percent from three-point range in the contest, making 13 treys, and held NDSU to 38 percent shooting from long range.
North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to South Dakota State for a league contest Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m.
