SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The North Dakota State University baseball team dropped the series finale of a four-game series at Incarnate Word Sunday, Feb. 18, falling 6-2.
NDSU (2-2) is scheduled to take on Central Connecticut State in a three-game series Feb. 23-25 in the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Senior
Mason Pierzchalski went 3-for-5 at the plate and hit his first homer of the season to lead the Bison, while
Drew Fearing,
Tucker Rohde and
Logan Busch each compiled two hits.
Reliever
Blake Tritch (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound for NDSU after giving up two unearned runs on two hits in two innings of work.
Sean Arnold went 2-for-4 in the batter's box, and Shea Gutierrez drove in a pair of runs, pacing the Cardinals.
UIW reliever John Shull (1-0) earned the win after tossing 5 1/3 innings and giving up two earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
