BATON ROGUE, La. – North Dakota State was shut out by No. 13-ranked Baylor 4-0 and dropped a 3-1 decision to BYU during the first day of the LSU Round Robin played Friday, March 23, at Tiger Park. The Bison had an eight-game winning streak snapped.

NDSU (17-9) is scheduled to play No. 10 LSU (24-4) at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Tiger Park.

A pair of two-run singles sparked Baylor (19-4) including a base hit from Shelby Friudenberg that put the Bears ahead 2-0 in the first inning and Taylor Ellis' run-scoring single that extended the lead to 4-0. Scroggins had a double and single for Baylor, while Carlee Wallace and Friudenbeg both added two hits.

Baylor pitcher Gia Rodoni (12-3) had a no-hit bid broken up by
Julia Luciano, who singled on a 2-2 pitch, with two outs in the sixth inning. Rodoni struck out 11 with no walks over the first six innings. Regan Green closed out the game.

KK Leddy (3-3) took the loss for North Dakota State. Leddy struck out three and walked one.

NDSU outhit BYU 7-3 in the second game, but the Cougars (16-13) put theirs to good use. Emilee Erickson hit a two-run home run in the second inning and Alexa Strid had a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

The Bison cut the deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when pinch-runner
Jaime Barta scored on a BYU fielding error.
Stephanie Soriano led NDSU with two hits and had three in two games.

Kerisa Viramontes (6-4) recorded the win for BYU. Viramontes scattered seven hits, walked two and struck out one.

Jacquelyn Sertic (13-5) was tagged with the loss. Sertic struck out six, allowed three hits, walked three and hit a batter.
