NDSU Drops Pair at UC Riverside Classic

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – North Dakota State University dropped a 1-0 decision to Boise State and lost 2-1 to host UC Riverside at the UCR Classic played Friday, March 9, at Amy S. Harrison Softball Field.
 
NDSU (9-7) is scheduled to play Colgate at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10.
 
Boise State (12-8) scored the game's only run in the top of the second on Alison Seng's RBI single. Ashlyn Adams and Seng each had two hits for the Broncos.
 
NDSU was limited to three hits by Boise State's Gianna Mancha (1-0), who struck out five and walked five in the shutout win.
 
KK Leddy (2-2) took the loss for the Bison. Leddy struck out four and issued no walks.
 
North Dakota State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first against UC Riverside (17-7). Madyson Camacho led off with a single, moved to third on Montana DeCamp's ground out and scored when Bre Beatty reached on an error.
 
Camacho went 4-for-6 for NDSU in the two games.
 
UC Riverside tied the game on Seanna Garewal's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. Jenna Curtain and Garewal each had two hits.
 
The Highlanders broke the 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth on Jenae Lockwood's solo home run.
 
Hailey Dolcini picked up the win for UCR. She struck out eight, scattered two hits and walked two.
 
Jacquelyn Sertic (7-4) was tagged with the loss. Sertic struck out seven and issued no walks.
