Waipahu, Hawaii – Bison junior
Mariah Haberle scored a pair of goals – including the game-winner in overtime – to lift the North Dakota State women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Grand Canyon in the opening game of the Rainbow Wahine Shootout Thursday night.
NDSU improved to 3-3-0 with the win. The Bison play host Hawaii at 7 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. HT on Saturday.
The Bison took a 1-0 lead into halftime after senior
Malley O'Brien buried a shot in the top right corner of the goal in the 35th minute. NDSU extended its advantage to 2-0 when Haberle found the net just over two minutes into the second half.
Grand Canyon battled back, scoring in the 66th minute and the 90th minute to tie the match at 2-2.
Haberle ended the game with a long distance missile that beat GCU goalkeeper Abby Burton nearly seven minutes into the first overtime period.

Roxy Roemer assisted on both of Haberle's goals, while sophomore
Daniella Jasper earned an assist on O'Brien's goal. Junior goalkeeper
Monica Polgar registered five saves in earning the victory.
