FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State women's basketball team went 0-for-14 from 3-point range Friday night, while Valparaiso countered with 10 makes from downtown in a 66-54 victory for the Crusaders. NDSU had made at least two 3-pointers in 113-straight games going back to the 2015-16 season.

The Bison dropped to 0-3 on the year, while Valparaiso improved to 1-1. NDSU returns to action on Monday night, taking on Creighton (2-0). The Bluejays have wins over Omaha and South Dakota State to start the year before facing Drake on Saturday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha.

NDSU led 17-13 after the first quarter, capitalizing on 7-of-9 shooting at the free throw line. The Bison were 3-of-9 in the second quarter, as Valparaiso outscored NDSU 13-6 to take a 26-23 lead at the break. After both teams scored 20 points in the third quarter, the Bison went just 2-of-10 from the field in the final quarter as Valpo pulled away for the victory.

Emily Dietz led the Bison with 14 points, while Michelle Gaislerova and Ryan Cobbins added 12 and 10 points respectively. Addison Stoller led the Crusaders with a game-high 21 points. Sofija Zivaljevic had a career-high 11 rebounds, while Rylee Nudell and Cobbins each had a season-high six boards. Zivaljevic had two assists, while Danneka Voegeli had a career-high two blocked shots.

Valpo had a 21-12 advantage in points off turnovers, capitalizing on the 22 NDSU had. The Bison had a 14-2 advantage in second chance points, pulling down 15 offensive rebounds while having a 45-27 advantage on the glass. NDSU was 18-of-48 (37.5%) from the field, while the Crusaders were 21-of-55 (38.2%) from the floor. Valpo was 10-of-30 from downtown. The Bison were 18-of-25 (72%) at the free throw line, while Valpo was 14-of-18 (77.8%) at the charity stripe.
