The Game:Â The North Dakota State men's basketball team (1-1) hosts Cal Poly in a Veterans Day matinee at 1 p.m. Monday inside the Scheels Center on the NDSU campus.

Where to Watch: Monday's game will be broadcast on Midco Sports Network and streamed on ESPN+, as well as being streamed live on GoBison.com/allaccess. Brian Shawn (play-by-play) and Greg Stemen (analyst) will call the action.

About Cal Poly: Under the direction of first-year head coach John Smith, Cal Poly returns three starters and six letterwinners from last season. The Mustangs' returning starters include 6-4 senior guard Job Alexander, 6-10 senior forward Hank Hollingsworth and 6-5 junior wing Mark Crowe.
         Cal Poly went 6-23 overall and 2-14 in the Big West Conference last year in the final season under head coach Joe Callero. The Mustangs were picked to finish ninth in the nine-team league this year.
         Cal Poly is scheduled to open the season at Santa Clara on Friday night, Nov. 8, before making the trip to Fargo.

History with Cal Poly: Monday will be the first-ever meeting between North Dakota State and Cal Poly in men's basketball. NDSU's most recent games against a Big West Conference opponent came in a two-game series vs. UC Santa Barbara in 2017 and 2018, with the home team winning both games.

Title Talk: NDSU has won four Summit League Tournament crowns in 11 seasons as a full member of the league -- 2009, 2014, 2015 and 2019.
         In 2009, 2014 and 2015, the Bison also won the regular season conference title.

Limited Turnovers & Fouls: NDSU ranked 15th in the nation last season for fewest fouls committed per game (14.9) and 20th nationally for fewest turnovers committed per game (10.5).

The Bison set a school record with 332 three-pointers made last season, breaking the previous high of 294 set in the 2017-18 season. NDSU averaged 9.5 three-pointers made per game.

The Bison were historically good at the free throw line last season, shooting 77.7 percent for a new single-season school record.

Individual Career Lists
Jared Samuelson entered the season ranked fourth on the NDSU career list for three-point shooting, making 43.6 percent for his career.
Cameron Hunter is ninth on the list at 41.1 percent.

Sustained Success: The Bison have a record of 283-184 (.606 win percentage) since beginning the transition to Division I in the 2004-05 season. NDSU has had only three losing seasons during that span.

Milestones: With seven rebounds at Kansas State in the season opener, senior
Tyson Ward became the 30th Bison to record 500 career rebounds. Ward scored 21 points in the home opener vs. Mayville State on Nov. 7, becoming the 35th member of NDSU's 1,000-Point Club.
         He is one of 21 players in North Dakota State history to reach both career milestones.

Big Numbers Back: The Bison return 83 percent of their scoring and 87 percent of their minutes played from last season.

Taking on the Best: NDSU played the No. 1-ranked team in the nation twice last season. The Bison played at No. 1 Gonzaga on Nov. 26, and later played No. 1 Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

High-Level Shooter: Jared Samuelson shot 49 percent from three-point range in Summit League play last year. He ended the season ranked 12th among all active Division I players with a career 43.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Rejected: Rocky Kreuser registered 39 blocks last season to rank second in The Summit League.

Eady Stepped Up: Redshirt freshman
Tyree Eady shot 52.5 percent in league play last season, including 45 percent from three-point range. He ranked seventh among Summit League freshmen with 6.8 points per game in league play.

Sam Griesel played for Germany's national team in the FIBA U20 European Championship in Israel this summer, averaging 5.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in seven games.

Top 3-Point Shooting League: The Summit League has been the top three-point shooting conference in all of Division I for the past three seasons. Summit League teams combined to shoot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc in the 2018-19 season, leading all conferences by more than one full percentage point.
