North Dakota State University captured the top Summit League awards for the 2019 women's cross country season, with junior
Kelby Anderson named the Summit League Athlete of the Year and NDSU distance coach
Andrew Carlson recognized as the league's Coach of the Year.

Anderson becomes the third Bison woman to earn the Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Year award, joining Brecca Wahlund (2013) and Erin Teschuk (2014, 2015). NDSU has now claimed the honor four times in the past seven seasons.

Anderson won the Summit League individual title, led the Bison to the team conference championship, and placed seventh at the NCAA Midwest Regional for All-Region honors. At the conclusion of her junior season, she owns five of the top 10 fastest 6k performances in NDSU cross country history.

Carlson joins three-time winner Ryun Godfrey as NDSU coaches who have been named Summit League Cross Country Coach of the Year. In his sixth full season directing the Bison distance runners, he coached the NDSU women to the conference team title and an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional – the second-best regional finish in school history.
