FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State women's basketball head coach Jory Collins has named Dylan Geissert an assistant coach.
Geissert spent the last two seasons on the staff at the University of Kansas as a Graduate Student Manager. Geissert coordinated the team's practice squad, helped with video, scouting, game preparation and assisted in the player development process. He also helped with the Brandon Schneider Summer Camps.
"Dylan has been with me in some capacity for six seasons," Collins said. "There isn't another person who has spent more time with me in practice or on the bench. He has a terrific basketball mind and feel for the game. His understanding of the culture we're trying to create will be invaluable."
Prior to Kansas, Geissert was a male practice player for the Emporia State women's basketball program and served as a student assistant under Collins for three seasons. While working with the Lady Hornets, Geissert was a part of five-straight MIAA tournament championships and a final four appearance in 2015.
"It's an honor to be a member of the Bison family," Geissert said. "Fargo and the NDSU athletic apartment have welcomed me with open arms. Throughout the past seven years Jory has been a great mentor to me and I am looking forward to continuing to learn from him here at NDSU. I am excited to be able to help change the culture and direction of the NDSU women's basketball program."
A native of Herington, Kansas, Geissert earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Emporia State in 2016.
