FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State soccer team posted its fourth shutout of the season on Sunday, as the Bison beat Chicago State 2-0 at Dacotah Field.

It was the final non-conference home match of the season, as the Bison honored their five seniors before the match. Elyse Huber, Nicky De Pape, Monica Polgar, Mariah Haberle and Laura Powell all earned the start on Senior Day. NDSU moved to 4-1-1 on the season, while Chicago State dropped to 0-6. The Bison will now hit the road for four-straight matches, starting with a pair of matches in Iowa on Friday and Sunday this week against Drake and Northern Iowa.

"It's great to celebrate five seniors in the program," NDSU head coach Mike Regan said. "They've done an awesome job since I've been here over the last two seasons. It's great to have all their families here and recognize them by starting every senior."

The seniors took over the game for the Bison in all areas. NDSU seniors had 11 of the 16 shots as a team, while also playing all 90 minutes in the net. Polgar pitched her fourth shutout of the season in the net, as she moved into a tie for first in NDSU history with 19 career shutouts. She is the fourth player to accomplish the feat, while also having a pair of combined shutouts. Polgar had six saves on the day, becoming the fourth player in school history with 250 career saves. She also became the third player to reach 30 career wins in the net.

Huber added to her team lead in goals scored with two more on Sunday. Her first came in the 53rd minute, as Huber headed in a shot by Haberle that bounced off the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Huber stole the ball and scored in front of the net for her sixth goal of the season. 

"Anytime we can win 2-0 at home, we'll definitely take it," Regan added. "We made a very, very hard going of it and didn't help ourselves in some areas. Being a young team, we're going to go through some adversity here and there. It's a good result based on the weekend we've had."

The Bison had a 16-8 advantage in shots, while the Cougars had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. NDSU held a 12-3 advantage in shots during the second half. The Bison had the ball for 58 percent of the match. Huber finished with a match-high six shots, including four on goal, while Haberle added five shots.
