MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior Klara Lyon won the pole vault at Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic to highlight the first day of competition for the North Dakota State women's track & field team.
 
Lyon cleared 12-06.25 (3.82m) to take first place in the pole vault. Bison freshman Ashley Hokanson placed fifth at 12-00.50 (3.67m), and redshirt freshman Blythe Ehrmantraut was sixth in the pole vault at 11-06.50 (3.52m).
 
NDSU junior Jenna Kes led the group of Bison women competing in the pentathlon, finishing with a score of 3,425 points for ninth place. Senior Kennedi Sand placed 12th with a score of 3,175, and junior Larkin Walter was 13th with a personal-best 3,041 points.
 
The Jack Johnson Classic resumes on Saturday morning.
