FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team made its return to action and opened the 2021 season Friday by hosting the Dakota Duals. The Bison defeated North Dakota in the dual-format team scoring, 100-43.

Akealy Moton won the shot put with a meet-record throw of 56-09.50 (17.31m), likely good enough to qualify for the NCAA Championships once again. Moton ranked fourth in the nation for the shot put last season.

Sophomore
Kendra Kelley won a pair of sprint events, running a personal-best 24.86 in the 200m dash to rank 10th in NDSU indoor history. She also clocked 7.73 seconds in the 60m dash for a new personal-best that fell just outside the NDSU all-time Top 10.

Kelby Anderson picked up where she left off in the spring, racing to a first-place finish in the mile in 4:50.38.

Freshman Salmata Korgho (Fargo Davies HS) won her collegiate debut in the 60m hurdles, clocking 8.88 for first place.

Tasha Willing won the weight throw, throwing a personal-best 60-01.25 (18.32m).

Lexi Jordheim won the pole vault, clearing a personal-best 11-11.75 (3.65m).
Bailey Cowling opened the season with a victory in the high jump, clearing 5-04.50 (1.64m).

Melina Kuerschner won the 3000m with the second-fastest time of her career, finishing in 9:58.06.

NDSU's
Daejha Moss took the long jump title with a mark of 18-08.50 (5.70m). Freshman Grace Emineth (Fargo Shanley HS) won the triple jump in her Bison debut, jumping 36-01.50 (11.01m). Emineth was also the runner-up in the long jump at 18-07.50 (5.68m).

Amanda Anderson registered a new personal-best by just over a foot in the shot put, throwing 49-8 (15.14m) for second place in the meet.
