BROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team swept the throwing event titles and turned in multiple strong performances in the hurdles and sprints at the season-opening SDSU Holiday Open on Friday.

Sophomore
Laney Songster won the 60m hurdles in a personal-best 8.48, ranking seventh all-time at NDSU in the event.

NDSU's
Riley Quinn and
Adison Kapitzke finished 1-2 in the shot put, with Quinn throwing 48-06.25 (14.79m) and Kapitzke at 48-04.75 (14.75m).
Grace Steffen won the weight throw title with a mark of 60-10 (18.54m).

Redshirt freshman
Paige Renschler clocked a personal-best 7.56 for second place in the 60m dash. She now ranks fifth-fastest in school history.

Anika Larson ran 24.08 for second place in the 200m dash – the second-fastest indoor time of her career.

Marvelous Onwualo ran 8.55 for second place in the 60m hurdles, and freshman Jordyn Davis clocked 8.70 in her collegiate debut.

Riika Tirkkonen finished second in the 300m dash with a time of 40.06.
