Vega Promoted to Associate Head Coach for NDSU Track & Field

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State's Reece Vega has been promoted to associate head coach of the Bison track & field program, director of track & field and cross country Stevie Keller announced Aug. 21.
Vega is entering his seventh season at NDSU after joining the staff in 2020. He directs NDSU's short sprints, hurdles, and relay programs, as well as serving as the team's recruiting coordinator.
Vega has helped elevate the Bison sprints and hurdles program to new levels of success. His student-athletes have earned numerous conference championships and NCAA West Preliminary Round qualifications while setting school, conference, and facility records and producing dozens of top-10 performances in NDSU history.
"Reece has been instrumental in the growth, development, and success of our program," said Keller. "His commitment and impact extend far beyond coaching responsibilities. He has prioritized fostering a positive team culture, mentoring student-athletes, and supporting the overall mission of our department."
Vega has coached multiple Summit League Most Outstanding Performers of the Championships, as well as three Summit League Newcomers of the Year, highlighting an ability to identify and develop incoming athletes into immediate conference meet impact performers.
The Bison men won their 16th outdoor Summit League title this May by a 76-point margin, and the NDSU women captured their 17th outdoor team crown by a 50-point margin.
