JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. - The North Dakota State men's golf team had the best final round score on the last day of The Joust on Tuesday, as the Bison finished in a tie for sixth place.
NDSU shot a 300 in the final round, which was two-strokes better than fourth-place Gonzaga. Omaha won the team title with an 870, while the Bison finished with a three-round total of 894. Omaha's Witchayapat Sinsrang won the individual title with a 208.
Nate Deziel paced the Bison, as he finished in a tie for ninth with a 218 overall. Deziel shot a 75 in the final round that included five birdies.
Lucas Johnson fired four birds in the final round, as he shot a 72. Johnson tied for 21st with a 224 overall.
Jed Baranczyk was two strokes behind Johnson, finishing in a tie for 31st with a 226. Baranczyk had three birdies in the final round, as he shot a 73.Â
Andrew Israelson had a birdie on the 17th, as he shot an 81 in the final round. Israelson tied for 36th with a 227 for the three rounds.
Brock Winter rounded out the Bison lineup, as he finished in a tie for 70th with a 237. Winter shot an 80 in the final round that included four birdies. Playing as an individual,
Nate Adams tied for 47th with a 229. Adams had a 77 in the final round that included a pair of birdies.
The Bison return to action March 13-14 at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
