Lauren Reimers hit a home run and
Dez Cardenas delivered a two-run double in the fourth inning as North Dakota State defeated Louisiana Tech 6-3 at the Bearkat Invitational on Sunday, March 1.

NDSU (7-11) is scheduled to open with BYU (13-6) at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic at 4:30 p.m. Central Time on March 6.

North Dakota State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Sam Koehn hit a two-out RBI single up the middle.
Montana DeCamp and Koehn then pulled off the double steal as DeCamp scored from third.

The Bison took advantage of an error in the bottom of the third to make it 3-0. NDSU tacked on three in the fourth inning. Reimers led off with a home run to center, her first of the season. Cardenas later doubled with two outs to score
Avery Wysong and
Skylar Padgett.

Louisiana Tech (4-15) made things interesting down the stretch. Marilyn Rizzato and Meghan Robicheaux each had RBI singles in the top of the sixth. Zoe Hicks hit a two-out home run in the seventh. Hicks finished with three hits, while Rizzato and Robicheaux each added two.

Paige Vargas (4-6) went the distance for the win. Vargas struck out eight and issued no walks.
Madyson Camacho, Cardenas and Koehn all had two hits.

Bre Hernandez (2-7) took the loss. Hernandez struck out six and walked four.
