Bison Begin Summit League Play Hosting North Dakota Wednesday Night

The Game: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (8-4 overall) will host the University of North Dakota (4-9) as both schools open Summit League play on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. inside the Scheels Center.

The Series vs. North Dakota: Wednesday will be the 304th meeting between NDSU and UND, with UND leading the all-time series, 163-140.
            The Bison lead 12-6 over 18 meetings in the Division I era, and NDSU has won six of the past eight over the Fighting Hawks.
 
Another Double-Double: Senior forward Rocky Kreuser recorded his fifth double-double of the season in the win at Pacific last Friday, putting up 24 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Kreuser is tied for 20th among all Division I players with five double-doubles this year.
 
Win Streak Numbers: In NDSU's current three-game win streak, all five Bison starters are averaging at least 9.0 points per game. Rocky Kreuser leads the Bison during the streak with 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per contest.
 
Win Streak Numbers, Part Two: In the current three-game win streak, the Bison are shooting just under 47 percent from the field and holding their opponents to 38-percent shooting. NDSU is also +9.7 in rebounding margin over those three victories.
 
Second-Half Surges: The Bison have rattled off 16-2 runs in the second half of their past two home games. Against CSU Northridge, NDSU led by five with 8 minutes remaining before a 16-2 run put the Bison up 19. Against Indiana State, NDSU trailed by 11 with 16 minutes left, but the 16-2 run gave the Bison a three-point lead.
 
Sammy Hoops: Sam Griesel put up 25 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in NDSU's 77-70 comeback win over Indiana State on Dec. 13. It was the second-highest scoring output of his career, trailing only his 26 points at South Dakota in the regular season finale last year.
 
Windex Man: Rocky Kreuser pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds against CSU Northridge on Dec. 10.
 
Settling In: Grant Nelson is averaging 13.3 points on 52% shooting over the past 7 games.
 
           
Limiting Fouls: NDSU is committing the 16th-fewest fouls per game in Division I this season, averaging 13.4 fouls per contest.
 
Lineup Limbo: The Bison have used five different starting lineups in 12 games this season. No starting lineup combination has been used more than four times.
 
Rocky's Record: Fifth-year Bison senior Rocky Kreuser set the NDSU career record for games played on Dec. 2 vs. Northland, appearing in his 133rd game to surpass Mike Felt's (2009-14) record of 132.
