VERMILLION, S.D. – The North Dakota State volleyball team lost 3-1 in a hotly contested match at defending Summit League champion South Dakota on Sunday night. Three of the four sets went to extra points, with the Coyotes winning 26-24, 25-19, 24-26, 27-25.

The Bison fell to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in The Summit League this season.

Taylor Quan led NDSU with a season-high 28 digs. The Bison featured a three-headed offensive attack, with
Ali Hinze recording 19 kills,
Alexis Bachmeier with 16, and
Allie Mauch registering 15. Mauch led the trio with a .211 hitting percentage.

Kelley Johnson finished with 45 assists and 14 digs.

South Dakota hit .246 for the match, outpacing NDSU's .165, and the Coyotes racked up 15 blocks. Elizabeth Juhnke led all players with 23 kills.

The two schools play again Monday night at 6 p.m. inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
