BROOKINGS, S.D. – Five events were finalized on Saturday at the Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships, and the North Dakota State women won four of them. The Bison have 78 points in the team standings, outpacing second-place South Dakota with 36.

NDSU senior
Amy Herrington launched a lifetime-best 70-05.00 (21.46m) to win the weight throw, ranking second-best in NDSU history and potentially qualifying for the NCAA Championships in two weeks.

Bison senior
Jennie Baragar-Petrash took first in the 3,000m in a personal-best time of 9:17.30, winning by a margin of 17 seconds and ranking second in school history.

On her final attempt in the long jump,
Jodi Lipp went for a career-best 19-05.25 (5.92m) to win the Summit League title.

Katie Bye,
Peyton Frolek and
Erin Valgardson won the distance medley relay title in 11:54.02, ranking ninth-fastest in NDSU history. The Bison won by a 10-second margin.

The Bison women turned in a dominant performance in the weight throw, finishing 1-3-4-5-7. Behind Herrington, senior
Tasha Willing took third with a personal-best 66-03.00 (20.19m), junior
Amanda Anderson was fourth at 64-10.50 (19.77m), and sophomore
Rebecca Tomann was fifth at 61-09.50 (18.83m).
Akealy Moton competed in the weight throw for the first time this season, and placed seventh with a personal-best mark of 60-06.50 (18.45m).

NDSU posted a 1-3-4-8 finish in the long jump for 22 team points. After Lipp,
Daejha Moss was third at 19-02.00 (5.84m), freshman
Grace Emineth was fourth at 19-01.25 (5.82m), and
Jenna Kes was eighth.

Kes took third place in the pentathlon for all-league honors, scoring 3,497 points.

NDSU sophomore
Kaleesa Houston came across sixth in the 3000m, running an 11-second PR of 9:54.47.

The NDSU women also loaded up Sunday's finals on the track, with plenty of Bison advancing through the preliminary rounds.

Three Bison clocked personal-best times in the 60m hurdles prelims, and all three advanced to Sunday's final –
Ansley Schug in 8.52,
Bailee Dierks in 8.71, and
Salmata Korgho in 8.74. The trio now rank third-, sixth-, and eighth-fastest in NDSU history.

Nell Graham (personal-best 56.26),
Alyssa Lind (56.88) and
Grace Zimmerman (57.31) all advanced to the 400m dash final. Frolek posted the top time in the 800m prelims at 2:12.13, and Bye (2:13.58) joined her in advancing to the final.

Sophomore
Kendra Kelley (24.53) and
Jenna Kes (24.99) both clocked personal-bests in the 200m dash prelims to advance to the final. Kelley also qualified to the 60m dash final with a time of 7.75.

Action resumes on Sunday with the men's heptathlon 60m hurdles at 9:30 a.m. Field events start at 11:30 a.m. and noon, and running events begin at 1 p.m.
