Omaha Defeats North Dakota State, 8-0

FARGO, N.D. - Omaha scored four runs in the third inning and went on to defeat North Dakota State 8-0 in a Summit League softball game Sunday, April 25, at Tharaldson Park. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to inclement weather.

Omaha (12-24, 6-9 Summit) batted around with six hits in the third inning including RBI singles from Izzy Eltze and Sydney Ross before a two-out, two-run single from Taylor Johnson.

The Mavericks tacked on another run in the fifth, Eltze lined a two-run homer inside the right-field foul pole in the sixth, and Janae Cameron homered in the seventh.

Omaha pitcher Kamryn Meyer struck out nine in the win. Meyer retired 11 straight batters before a walk to Montana DeCamp in the fourth and limited the Bison (13-23, 8-7 Summit) to a pair of singles in the fifth by Sam Koehn and the sixth by DeCamp.

North Dakota State is scheduled to host North Dakota in a four-game series next Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2.
