Bison Men Hit Road for Games at Kansas City, Oral Roberts this Week

The Games: Winners of six of the last eight games, the North Dakota State men's basketball team (11-6 overall, 3-2 Summit) will travel to take on Kansas City on Thursday, Jan. 20, and Oral Roberts on Saturday, Jan. 22.

The Series vs. Kansas City: Thursday will be the 19th meeting all-time between NDSU and Kansas City. The Bison hold a 13-5 lead in the series after winning two of three games against the Roos last season. The schools split their two meetings in Kansas City on Jan. 29-30 last season, before NDSU won 69-65 in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament.
 
Against Kansas City: Tyree Eady led the Bison in scoring in their three games against Kansas City last season, averaging 14.3 points on 61-percent shooting vs. the Roos.
 
The Series vs. Oral Roberts: Saturday will be the 33rd meeting all-time between North Dakota State and Oral Roberts, with the Bison leading the series 17-15. NDSU has won 12 of the 18 meetings since ORU returned to The Summit League in the 2014-15 season.
 
Against Oral Roberts: Rocky Kreuser averaged 20.3 points in NDSU's three meetings with Oral Roberts last season, including a career-high 34 points in the championship game of the Summit League Tournament. Sam Griesel averaged 11.0 points and 9.7 rebounds in the three games against ORU.
 
Multiple Threats: Four Bison are shooting 42 percent or better from three-point range in Summit League play. Sam Griesel is 7-for-12 (58 percent) from beyond the arc, Jarius Cook is 10-for-20 (50 percent), and Boden Skunberg and Grant Nelson are also above that mark.
 
Significant Difference: The Bison are shooting 40 percent from three-point range in Summit League play and limiting their opponents to 30 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Climbing the Charts: With 68 points over the past three games, Rocky Kreuser moved into NDSU's all-time Top 20 for career points. He now ranks 16th in school history with 1,423 points.
 
Maleeck's Week: Maleeck Harden-Hayes was one of the most valuable players for the Bison on their perfect 2-0 road trip on Jan. 8-10. In the win at Omaha, he registered his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. In the victory at Denver, he scored a season-high 15 points. Overall, Harden-Hayes shot 63 percent and pulled down seven offensive boards on the road trip.
 
The Streit Way: Freshman forward Joshua Streit played a season-high 13 minutes and grabbed a season-high six rebounds in NDSU's win at Denver on Jan. 10.
 
Rocky Mountain High: Rocky Kreuser averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds on NDSU's 2-0 road trip to Omaha and Denver. He shot 15-for-28 (54 percent) over the two wins.
