SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Senior outside hitter
Syra Tanchin has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Co-Offensive Peak Performer of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. Elizabeth Juhnke from South Dakota was also tabbed Co-Offensive Peak Performer of the Week.
Tanchin has helped the Bison (12-5, 5-0 Summit) to their first 5-0 start in Summit League play since 2010. She connected on a team-high 49 kills and averaged a team-best 4.45 kills per set last week. Tanchin reached double digits in kills in all three matches, including a career-high 26 kills in the upset win over South Dakota. She also added a .368 hitting percentage, 22 digs, five blocks and five service aces to her stat line.
Tanchin has totaled 229 kills this season and ranks third in the Summit League. She is also averaging 3.69 kills per set, which ranks fourth in the conference.
