FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State volleyball head coach
Jennifer Lopez has announced the addition of three players on signing day.
Ari Blohm, Emma Tallman and Lauren Jansen are set to join the Bison in the fall of 2023.
Blohm is a four-year letterwinner at Stewartville High School. The 6-1 middle blocker has totaled 328 kills in her senior season to go along with 200 digs, 132 total blocks, 48 aces and a .278 hitting percentage. The Spring Valley, Minn., native was named to the HVL All-Conference team and helped the Tigers to a 25-5 overall record in her junior season.
"Ari is a middle blocker out of Stewartville, Minn., and plays for one of the top club programs in the state," said head coach
Jennifer Lopez. "She's got great size and a strong physical presence that is needed in that position. Ari's got a blue-collar, nose to the grindstone type of mentality and she is going to be fun to watch in the BBF."
Tallman is a three-year letterwinner at Dowling Catholic High School. The middle blocker registered a .308 hitting percentage with 213 kills, 110 blocks and 23 aces during her senior season. The Johnston, Iowa native has helped her team win at least 20 matches and appear in the state tournament each of the last three seasons, including a 31-10 overall mark in her senior season.
"Emma has the length and size that we are looking for as we continue to add to our middle and pin positions," said Lopez. "She's an aggressive blocker and her skillset as a middle has only continued to develop in really strong ways."
Jansen is a four-year letterwinner at Plainfield North High School. The 5-11 outside hitter has registered a .351 hitting percentage in her senior season to go along with 327 kills, 223 digs and 58 aces. The Plainfield, Ill., native is a three-time Southwest Prairie All-Conference selection and was named the Southwest Prairie Conference Most Valuable Player in her senior season.
"Lauren is an extremely dynamic and versatile pin attacker who plays smart and finds ways to score," said Lopez. "Her ball control and ability to read and anticipate on the defensive end will be a huge addition to our program."
