Bison Win at St. Thomas for 5th Straight Victory

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team claimed its fifth consecutive victory – all in the span of 10 days – with a 75-64 road win over St. Thomas on Saturday night in Summit League play.
NDSU improved to 19-8 overall and 11-4 in league play. The Bison have now won eight of their past nine games.
Sam Griesel finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to lead NDSU. Tyree Eady scored 15 points to move his career total to 999, and Rocky Kreuser added 14 points and nine boards.
NDSU trailed 52-49 with 8:18 remaining in the game when Griesel went to the line for a pair of free throws. He made the first, missed the second, and the Bison fought for an offensive rebound that resulted in a corner three from Kreuser. NDSU went ahead 53-52 and never trailed again.
Griesel drilled a dagger three-pointer with 2:05 left to push a five-point advantage to eight at 67-59.
The Bison shot 48 percent for the game and made 7-of-18 (39 percent) from beyond the arc. NDSU limited St. Thomas to 3-for-21 shooting from three-point range. The Bison were plus-13 in rebounding.
It was NDSU's eighth true road win of the season.
NDSU will return home to host Oral Roberts on Thursday, Feb. 17, and Kansas City on Saturday, Feb. 19.
