NDSU Basketball Returns Home to Play Oral Roberts Thursday, Kansas City Saturday

The Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (19-8 overall, 11-4 Summit) returns to Fargo to close out the home portion of its Summit League schedule, hosting Oral Roberts on Thursday, Feb. 17, and Kansas City on Saturday, Feb. 19, for Senior Day.

The Series vs. Oral Roberts: Thursday will be the 34th meeting all-time between North Dakota State and Oral Roberts, with the Bison leading the series 18-15. NDSU has won 13 of the 19 meetings since ORU returned to The Summit League in the 2014-15 season.
 
The Series vs. Kansas City: Saturday will be the 20th meeting all-time between NDSU and Kansas City. The Bison hold a 13-6 lead in the series. NDSU won two of three meetings last season, including a 69-65 victory in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament. The Roos won 80-77 in Kansas City on Jan. 20 this season.
 
Close Games: 13 of NDSU's 15 Summit League games this season have been within a four-point margin with under four minutes remaining in regulation.
 
Defending Home Court: The Bison are 30-5 at home over the past three seasons.
 
Griesel Player of the Week: Sam Griesel was named the Summit League Player of the Week on Monday following a 3-0 week in which he averaged 17.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. He hit the game-winning shot with three seconds remaining against South Dakota on Feb. 7, then averaged 23.5 points and 9.0 rebounds on NDSU's victorious trip to Western Illinois and St. Thomas.
 
Back-To-Back: Sam Griesel logged back-to-back games with 20-plus points for the first time in his career, scoring 23 at Western Illinois on Feb. 10 and 24 at St. Thomas on Feb. 12.
 
Picking Up Steam: NDSU has won eight of its last nine games, and the Bison are 14-4 since Dec. 10.
 
Approaching 1,000: Tyree Eady has scored 999 points in his career. He will become the 38th member of the 1,000-Point Club at NDSU. Rocky Kreuser was the most recent Bison to reach the milestone, doing so on Jan. 30 last season at Kansas City.
 
5 in 10 Days: The Bison are riding a five-game winning streak, with all five victories coming in a 10-day stretch between Feb. 3 and Feb. 12.
 
Great Late at Home: The Bison are shooting 54 percent in the second half of home games this season, including 65 percent from Grant Nelson.
 
Long-Awaited Career High: Tyree Eady scored a career-high 22 points in NDSU's win at Western Illinois on Feb. 10. He had scored 18 points in a game four times before breaking through with his first 20-point game at WIU.
 
Half Decade of Hoops: Fifth-year senior Rocky Kreuser has played in an NDSU record 152 games during his career – tied for the 13th-most among all active NCAA players. He is the fourth player in NDSU history with over 1,500 career points and 750 career rebounds.
 
Among The Best: In Summit League play, Rocky Kreuser ranks second in the conference for rebounding (7.6 rpg) and fourth for scoring (17.7 ppg).
 
Multiple Threats: Four Bison are shooting better than 39 percent from three-point range in Summit League play. Tyree Eady is 20-for-43 (47 percent) from beyond the arc, and Sam Griesel is 15-for-34 (44 percent).

  • Sam Griesel is averaging 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
