
Kreuser Leads Bison Men to 73-65 Win over Denver

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State senior forward Rocky Kreuser had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bison men's basketball team to a 73-65 win over Denver on Saturday afternoon inside the Scheels Center.
The Bison improved to 16-8 overall and 8-4 in Summit League play. Denver fell to 9-17 and 5-8 in the league. NDSU has now won five of its past six games.
Kreuser connected on 4-of-7 shots from beyond the arc, making half of NDSU's three-pointers for the game. Tyree Eady, Grant Nelson and Jarius Cook all added 12 points for the Bison. Eady recorded eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
The Bison shot 41 percent as a team, but limited the Pioneers to 38-percent shooting. NDSU won the rebounding battle, 39-31.
NDSU led 37-30 at halftime. The Bison opened the second half with a 7-1 run to go up by 13 at 44-31 with just under 18 minutes remaining. Denver clawed back to take a brief 47-46 lead, but Cook responded with a corner three, and the Bison never trailed again.
NDSU held a slim advantage at 59-57 with under five minutes left before Nelson and Kreuser both drained a pair of free throws to push the margin to six.
NDSU will host South Dakota on Monday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. in a rescheduled game that was originally slated for New Year's Day in Fargo.
