NDSU Volleyball Adds Denessen to 2022 Signing Class

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State volleyball head coach Jennifer Lopez has announced the addition of Eke Denessen to the 2022 class.

Denessen joins NDSU after spending the last two seasons at South Florida.

"Through the recruiting process that we had with Eke, it was pretty clear early on that we knew she was going to be a great addition to the team both on and off the court," said Lopez. "She's got the skillset that is going to be able to work well within our offense and she brings with her a great level of understanding of the game and experience, and we can't wait to get her in the gym this fall."

Denessen appeared in 24 matches last season and made 13 starts at setter for South Florida. The Venlo, Netherlands native passed out 262 assists, which ranked second on the team. She notched 20 more or more assists in four matches, including a season-high 38 at Memphis on Oct. 22. Denessen, who was named to the 2020 AAC All-Academic Team, also added 100 digs and seven service aces.

Prior to South Florida, Denessen played with College Den Hulster in Venlo, Netherlands. She also helped her Peelpush u18 team to a Dutch National Club Championship and was a Junior Beach Volleyball National Championship winner in 2018.

Denessen joins Ally Barth, Baily Plourde and Nora Raasch in the 2022 signing class after they signed back in November.
