SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State will host the 2023 Summit League Baseball and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
NDSU will host the Summit League Baseball Championship at Newman Outdoor Field on May 24-27 for the first time in program history. It will mark the first time NDSU has hosted a postseason baseball event since the 2000 North Central Conference (NCC) tournament. The Bison assembled a 31-19 overall record last season and won their first regular season Summit League championship in program history.
NDSU will also host the Outdoor Track & Field Championship on May 11-13 for the first time at Terrence Dahl and Donna Beres Track Complex, which is under construction and set to open in the fall. It will be the fourth time overall the Bison have hosted the event.
The facility will feature an eight-lane 400-meter track, three dual-direction pole vault runways and two dual-direction horizontal jump runways. It will also have multiple competition areas for the shot put, discus, hammer, javelin and high jump that will be located inside the oval with jump runways on the east side of the track. The west side of the track will be the traditional home straightaway, running from north to south in front of a new grandstand with seating for 2,136 spectators.
