FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State volleyball team swept MSU Moorhead, 3-0, on Friday afternoon at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse in exhibition play.
"Every day is another day for us to learn and get better, and being able to see things put into play today was something I was really happy with," said head coach
Jennifer Lopez. "We've been hard at work battling against each other for the last week and a half, and so to have all of our players on one side of the net I know was what we needed to cap off our fall camp."
The Bison started fast opening up a 13-7 edge after a kill from
Syra Tanchin. NDSU then stretched its lead into double digits, 21-11, following a Dragon attack error. The Bison went on to take the opening frame, 25-14.
After MSU Moorhead locked the contest in the second set, 10-10, the Bison responded with a 4-0 run to build a 14-10 lead following a block from
Michelle Glover and
Alexis Boling. NDSU then increased its advantage to 17-11 after a kill from Boling.
Allison Scheiwiller capped the frame with a kill to help the Bison secure the win, 25-14.
NDSU quickly doubled up the Dragons, 8-4, in the third stanza following a kill from Tanchin. MSU Moorhead responded to cut the edge down to two, 12-10. NDSU then answered with a momentum-swinging 4-0 run after a kill from
Ali Hinze to push the edge to 16-10. The Bison went on to win the set, 25-21, and the match, 3-0.
