NDSU Volleyball Extends Win Streak After Sweeping Oral Roberts, 3-0

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State volleyball team extended its four-match win streak after sweeping Oral Roberts, 3-0, on Thursday night at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Ali Hinze powered the Bison (11-5, 4-0 Summit) with 11 kills, seven digs and a career-high five services. Syra Tanchin also poured in 11 kills with a .476 hitting percentage. Kelley Johnson just missed a double-double with a match-best 30 assists and nine digs, while Logan O'Brien totaled a match-high 13 digs on the defensive end.
After both teams traded points to begin the match, Hinze responded for NDSU with a kill to steal a 12-11 advantage. Following a kill from Kaia Dunford to lock the set, 12-12, the Bison erupted with seven straight points to build a 19-12 edge after an ace from Hinze. NDSU went on to win the set, 25-15, and notched a .382 hitting percentage in the frame.
The Bison sprinted out to an early 8-2 lead in the second set following five straight points. NDSU then pushed its edge into double digits, 14-4, after Hinze added another ace. NDSU didn't look back from there and won the set, 25-16.
The Bison continued to apply pressure into the third frame doubling up the Golden Eagles (5-10, 2-1 Summit), 12-6, following a block from Michelle Glover and Tanchin. NDSU then increased its lead to 19-8 after Johnson connected on a service ace. The Bison closed out the set, 25-11, and the match, 3-0.
NDSU will be back in action hosting Kansas City on Saturday. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
