FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University men's basketball program has signed three student-athletes to its 2024 recruiting class, head coach David Richman announced Wednesday.
Treyson Anderson, a forward from Lincoln, Neb.; Isaia Howard, a guard from Plattsburg, Mo.; and Andy Stefonowicz, a guard from Minnetonka, Minn., have signed to continue their education and compete at North Dakota State.
"We are thrilled to bring in these three young men who are excellent additions on the basketball court, but even better fits as people in our program," Richman said. "We couldn't be more pleased to welcome them and their families into our Bison Family."
Anderson (6-10 forward / Pius X Catholic HS) put up 14.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game as a junior, earning all-conference and honorable mention all-state recognition.
"Treyson comes from the terrific Pius X program in Lincoln, and his size and skill make him the perfect fit for our program," said Richman. "Bison fans will love this young man and his amazing family, and we cannot wait to get him on campus here at NDSU."
Howard (6-4 guard / Plattsburg HS) averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 steals as a junior. Plattsburg HS won 31 games and placed third in Missouri's Class 2, with Howard earning state Player of the Year honors. He is a three-time district Player of the Year and three-time unanimous all-conference selection.
"Isaia is coming off a very impressive junior season, where he continued to prove himself as a winner in addition to his high-level basketball skills," said Richman. "He truly is a versatile wing who can affect winning in multiple ways, and we think he will be a great fit in Fargo."
Stefonowicz (6-1 guard / Minnetonka HS) averaged 16.7 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game as a junior, helping Minnetonka to a section title and state tournament berth. Andy's mother, Jody (Buck) Stefonowicz, was a three-time North Central Conference Player of the Year for the Bison, leading the team to national championships in 1991 and 1993. His father, Rob, played for the NDSU men's basketball team from 1990-94.
"Andy is a dynamic playmaking guard who plays the game with a joy and passion for winning," Richman said. "His character and leadership ability will make him a great addition on and off the floor. With his strong family ties to NDSU, officially adding him to our Bison Family makes this a special day."
The Bison have earned four bids to the NCAA Tournament in the past decade and have played in 9 of the past 11 Summit League Tournament championship games.
