The Game: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (7-6) will open Summit League play with a home game against South Dakota on Friday, Dec. 29, inside the Scheels Center on the NDSU campus.

Against South Dakota: Friday will be the 189th meeting all-time between NDSU and South Dakota, with the Bison leading the series 105-83. In the Division I era, NDSU owns a 20-7 record against the Coyotes. The Bison won two out of three games with South Dakota last season, prevailing 70-68 in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament.

Hands Off: The Bison rank 18th in the nation for fewest fouls committed per game, averaging just 13.8 fouls through 13 games.

From Downtown: NDSU ranks 59th nationally in three-point percentage at 36.9 percent.

Opening Night Success: The Bison are 7-2 in Summit League openers under David Richman, dating back to his first season as head coach in 2014-15. NDSU has won four of its past five conference openers.
