SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –
Catherine Monty has been named to the Summit League Women's Golf All-Academic Team for the first time in her career, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Monty has registered a 3.96 grade-point average in political science. The Stillwater, Minn., native averaged a career-best 75.97 over 32 rounds this season. She recorded three top five finishes and earned her first career win at the NDSU Fall Invitational.
Monty closed the season earning a spot on the Summit League All-Tournament Team after finishing tied for fifth place at the championship with a 54-hole total of 217, including a career-low 67 in round two.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors (SIDs) and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs.
In order to be considered for the academic all-league golf team, a student-athlete: must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); must have completed at least one full academic year (two semesters, three quarters) at the current institution; and must have participated in 50 percent of their team's completed competitions.
