MANHATTAN, Kan. – The North Dakota State men's golf team opened the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational on Sunday at Colbert Hills, sitting in seventh place after the first two rounds.
The Bison shot rounds of 288 and 284 to end the first day at -4 and in the top half of the 15-team tournament. Host Kansas State leads the event at -19 with a total score of 557. Southern Illinois sits in second at six strokes back with a score of -13, and Kansas City is in third with a score of -11.
Nate Adams (69-71—140) sits tied for fifth place after 36 holes at -4. Adams opened the day with a -3 score of 69 in round one. Adams finished the day with five birdies.
Gavin Cronkhite (75-68—143) carded rounds of 75 and 68, ending the first round in 48th place before moving up 32 spots in round two to sit tied for 16th place. Cronkhite had seven birdies.
Two strokes back and tied for 24th overall is sophomore
Rylin Petry (74-71—145). Petry began the event with a +2 round of 74 before carding a -1 round of 71 in the afternoon. He had five birdies on the day.

Jack Johnson (72-74—146) sits tied for 32nd place, while
Ian Simonich (73-75—148) is position tied for 50th place.
The Bison will wrap up the Wildcat Invitational on Monday with the final round teeing off at 10:30 a.m.
