CHARLESTON, S.C. – The North Dakota State women's basketball team fell short at Charleston Southern, 67-60, on Friday night at CSU Fieldhouse.

After Charleston Southern (2-6) led by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, the Bison (3-3) assembled a late 11-2 run spanning just over one minute to cut the deficit down to single digits, 65-60, with 19 seconds to play. Molly Lenz sparked the run with a pullup jumper at the 1:24 mark before she found Claire Stern on the perimeter for a triple with 19 seconds on the clock to cap the late surge. However, Catherine Alben delivered two free throws with 16 seconds remaining to put the contest out of reach, 67-60.

Abby Schulte paced NDSU with 11 points and four rebounds, while Marisa Frost reached double digits in scoring for the first time in her career with 10 points off the bench to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Miriley Simon also hauled in a team-high seven rebounds with six points off the bench.

As a team, the Bison shot 35.3 percent (24-68) from the field and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the free throw line. NDSU had nine players in the scoring column with 38 points coming from in the paint.

NDSU will continue its road swing at the College of Charleston on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 11:00 a.m. CT at TD Arena.
