NDSU Men Go to Oral Roberts, Denver

The Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (12-13 overall, 5-5 Summit) will play at Oral Roberts on Thursday and at Denver on Saturday this week.
 
          Thursday, Feb. 15       at Oral Roberts       7 p.m. CT
          Saturday, Feb. 17        at Denver               3 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. MT
 
Where to Watch: Both games will be broadcast on the Summit League Network through the Midco Sports Plus app. The Denver game is also scheduled to air on Altitude.
 
Radio: Sam Neidermann will call both games on 107.9 The Fox. Broadcasts can also be streamed on the NDSU Athletics app, as well as at GoBison.com/AllAccess for free all season.
 
Against Oral Roberts: Thursday will be the 40th meeting all-time between North Dakota State and Oral Roberts, with the Bison leading the series 21-18. NDSU has won 16 of the 25 meetings since ORU returned to The Summit League in the 2014-15 season. The Golden Eagles won all three meetings last season, after the Bison swept the three showdowns in the 2021-22 season.
 
Last Time vs. Oral Roberts: Boden Skunberg recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Noah Feddersen added 18 points to lift the Bison to a 72-67 victory over Oral Roberts on Jan. 20 in Fargo.
          The Bison grabbed 13 offensive rebounds in the game, outpacing the Golden Eagles by 10 on the offensive glass. NDSU junior Andrew Morgan finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and a team-high four assists.
          NDSU led for nearly 26 of the game's 40 minutes. The contest featured eight ties and 11 lead changes.
          ORU took a 64-62 lead on a bucket by Kareem Thompson with 1:30 remaining. The Bison answered with a three-pointer from Skunberg on the next possession, and Morgan added a free throw and a layup to put NDSU up 68-64 with 40 seconds left. The Golden Eagles got a three-point play from Issac McBride to pull within one, but the Bison went 4-for-4 at the free throw line to seal the victory.
 
Against Denver: Saturday will be the 30th meeting between NDSU and Denver dating back to the 1993-94 season. The Bison hold a 21-8 advantage in the all-time series. NDSU had won 11 straight vs. the Pioneers until Denver won in Fargo on Jan. 18 of this season.
 
Last Time vs. Denver: The Pioneers defeated NDSU, 78-70, on Jan. 18 inside the Scheels Center. NDSU senior Boden Skunberg led the Bison with 15 points and six rebounds. Jacari White finished with 14 points and a pair of steals. Touko Tainamo led Denver with 21 points.
          Denver shot 54 percent for the game, compared to 44 percent for the Bison. NDSU struggled from three-point range, making 5-of-24 (21 percent).
          The Pioneers led 37-34 at halftime. NDSU pulled ahead on a bucket by White just over five minutes into the second half, and the teams traded the lead 11 more times over the course of the second half. White drained a three to give the Bison a 64-60 lead with 4:15 remaining, but Denver scored seven straight to take the lead for good.
 
From Downtown: The Bison rank 11th in the nation for three-point shooting at 38.6 percent.

Morgan Named Summit League Peak Performer: Junior Andrew Morgan was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week on Feb. 12 after averaging 24.5 points and shooting 65 percent from the field in a pair of Bison victories. In the 82-78 overtime win vs. Kansas City on Feb. 8, Morgan scored a career-high 31 points and made a career-high 14 free throws.
