Denver Storms Back for 77-71 Win over NDSU

DENVER, Colo. – Denver's Tommy Bruner scored 41 points to lead the Pioneers to a 77-71 comeback victory over the North Dakota State men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Gymnasium. Denver erased a 20-point deficit with 16 minutes remaining to earn the win.
 
The Bison fell to 6-6 in Summit League play, while Denver improved to 6-7 in the league.
 
Sophomore Tajavis Miller led NDSU with 21 points, including a 5-for-5 start from three-point range in the game. Junior Jacari White finished with 13 points, a career-high eight rebounds, and five assists.
 
Denver shot 62 percent after halftime and made 6-of-11 from beyond the arc in the second half.
 
NDSU led 52-32 with 16:09 remaining before the Pioneers exploded for a 35-9 run over the next 11-plus minutes.
 
Bruner is the nation's leading scorer at 25.3 points per game.
 
NDSU returns home to host St. Thomas on Thursday, Feb. 22, and North Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 24, next week.
