FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State soccer head coach
Mike Regan has announced the addition of Alexandra Austmann Emilsdóttir to the 2024 signee class. Austmann Emilsdóttir will come to the Bison from Kópavogur, Reykjavík in Iceland.
Primarily playing as a midfielder throughout her career, Austmann Emilsdóttir has most recently played for UMF Afturelding, appearing in 10 games in her first season with the club. She also helped the UMFA U20 Team to the finals of the Icelandic Championship. Prior to her move with UMFA, she led Víkingur Reykjavík U20 to the Reykjavík Tournament title in 2023.
At 15 years old, Austmann Emilsdóttir first started games with HK Kópavogur after being the permanent captain throughout the junior ranks for the club. The next year she was then named the team's U20 captain in the 2021 season, leading the club to a 14-2-0 record and their first-ever Icelandic U20 Championship, starting in every game and scoring in the final. She subsequently received the club's Player trophy as the top player voted on by the team.
Alexandra, the daughter of Emil and Dóra, has one sister, Sunneva, and one brother, Kristófer. She graduated from Reykjavík Women's College and intends to pursue a degree in Social Sciences.
With the addition of Austmann Emilsdóttir, the NDSU signee class grows to 11, joining five announced in November and five in January and early February.
