SAN JOSE, Calif. – North Dakota State softball dropped its Silicon Valley Classic finale on a walkoff on Sunday, falling to host San Jose State 2-1.
The Spartans took the lead in the second, capitalizing on an NDSU error to score an unearned run. However, the Bison would answer right back in the third, as
Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage tripled and then scored on a
Bella Dean single up the middle. The game would remain tied into the seventh, when San Jose State hit a one-out single with runners on second and third to plate the winning run.
Aguilar-Beaucage, Dean and
Rylee Henderson had the three Bison hits in the game. Henderson and Dean also had a walk.
Piper Reed picked up the loss, going six innings, allowing one earned run on seven hits.
The Bison will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Stockton, California to take on Pacific in a single game. First pitch against the Tigers is set for 4 p.m. CT.
