FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball program has added transfer guard Brennan Watkins, NDSU head coach David Richman announced Thursday, Apr. 18.

Watkins comes to NDSU from VMI, where he played two seasons in three years from 2021-24. He played in 30 games as a true freshman in 2021-22, sat out the 2022-23 season due to injury, and was the team's leading scorer this past season.

Watkins averaged 15.2 points and 3.0 assists in the 2023-24 season, draining 47 three-pointers and shooting 87 percent at the free throw line. He had nine games with 20-plus points, six games with five or more assists, and 13 games with multiple three-pointers made.

"Brennan brings tremendous experience, toughness and an offensive ability that Bison fans will enjoy," said Richman. "Off the floor, he brings the leadership and character that we value. We are thrilled that Brennan and his family have joined our Bison Family."

A native of Kearney, Mo., and Kearney HS, Watkins comes to NDSU with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
