GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota State dropped both games in a doubleheader on Saturday at North Dakota, falling 5-4 and 1-0 at Apollo Park.
In game one,
Chloe Woldruff recorded a two-RBI single in the first and added an RBI in the fifth to help NDSU to a 4-1 lead. However, North Dakota scored one in the fifth and took the lead on a bases clearing double in the bottom of the sixth.
In game two, North Dakota broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with an RBI single to score a baserunner from second for the game's only run.
Addie Bowers picked up the loss in relief in game one, giving up three runs in two innings of work. In game two,
Kaitlyn Dunford tossed all seven innings, allowing one run.
Zoe King finished with two hits in game two, while
Chloe Woldruff was the only Bison with hits in both games, as NDSU was held to three in game one and five in game two. In game two,
Emilee Buringa became the 12
th Bison in the Division I era to start 150-consecutive games.
The final game of the series is set for Sunday afternoon, with first pitch between the Bison and Fighting Hawks slated for 1 p.m. at Apollo Park.
