FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State will wrap up the regular season this week, making the longest trip of the Summit League schedule this season, traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take on Oral Roberts. The Bison and Golden Eagles are set to meet on Thursday, October 23, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Case Soccer Complex.

Series History
North Dakota State and Oral Roberts will meet for the 21st time in series history on the soccer pitch, dating back to NDSU's move to the Summit League in 2007. NDSU holds an 11-5-4 lead in the series, including a 2-1 win last year in Fargo during the regular season. However, following a 0-0 tie in the Summit League Championship Semifinals, Oral Roberts ended NDSU's Championship hopes last season with an advancement on penalty kicks, winning 5-3 at Dacotah Field in November.

The Bison hold a 3-2-2 series record in Tulsa, but the last win for the Bison in Oklahoma came in 2016, with the teams tying 1-1 in 2019 before a 2-0 win for Oral Roberts in 2022, followed by a 1-0 win in 2023.

Regular Season - NDSU rallied in the second half to defeat Oral Roberts 2-1 to take over the top spot in the Summit League standings.

Oral Roberts took the lead in the 51st minute, as Alani Chaple scored from outside of the penalty area with a shot off the far post.

Morgan Russmann made a run to set up
Ava Stanchina, who scored from the edge of the penalty area.

The Bison then capitalized on a counter attack in the 83rd minute.
Hannah Arnold played a ball in to the box to Russmann, who fired a shot from the center of the penalty area past Alexa Riefer.

Tournament - Oral Roberts advanced on penalty kicks to top NDSU in the Summit League semifinals, winning 5-3 in the penalty kick shootout.

Oral Roberts scored on all five of its penalty kicks, with Carson Arne scoring the clinching goal after
Morgan Russmann's penalty was saved in NDSU's fourth attempt.

NDSU dominated the first half, outnumbering Oral Roberts 8-1 in shots. The Bison led shots 5-4 in the second half and also led overtime 2-1, but were unable to find a breakthrough, with just one of 15 shots on target and testing Alexa Riefer.

Payton Mulberry recorded her sixth shutout of the season and the eighth overall for NDSU, making two saves.

Bison Goal scorers
Morgan Russmann has scored in back-to-back games for the Bison, adding her team-leading fifth goal of the season against Kansas City, before knocking in her sixth on the road at St. Thomas.

Kendall Stadden and
Isabel Garcia are second for the Bison with four goals each this season. Russmann has a pair of game winners along with one each from Stadden and Garcia.

Russmann has three goals in Summit League play, scoring her 17th career goal at St. Thomas, following goals against Denver and Kansas City. Stadden recorded her first career brace at South Dakota and Garcia also found the scoresheet against the Coyotes.

Hannah Arnold has two goals this season, along with four assists.
Tyreese Zacher and
Gabrielle Garrett have each added one goal and multiple assists.

Chloe Birch and
Loretta Wacek have also chipped in key goals, with Wacek scoring at South Dakota for the first time since returning this season from an ACL injury in 2023.

Russmann Continues Move Up in NDSU Top 10
Morgan Russmann scored her sixth goal of the season at St. Thomas, continuing the move up the charts in NDSU's Division I history. The Bettendorf, Iowa native now has 17 career goals, moving into sixth overall on her own, surpassing Mariah Haberle (2016-19) and
Olivia Watson (2021-24). Quin Ryan (2007-10) is next in front of Russmann on the list, sitting at 20 career goals.
Looking Ahead
North Dakota State's season will come to a close following Thursday's contest in Tulsa with Oral Roberts. The Bison will move into the off season, with National Signing Day being the next big event for the Bison Soccer program. National Signing Day, which is November 12, 2025, kicks off the signing period for women's soccer, which runs until August of 2026.
